I'm Chad Johnson, a digital media producer and digital content strategist with over 15 years of experience in creating and managing multimedia content across various platforms. I specialize in developing engaging video, podcast, and live stream content that drives brand success and audience growth.
After high school, I took on a mix of creative jobs like balloon artist, AV installer, summer camp counselor, even running lights and sound for a traveling game show. At the same time, I was making online content for fun.
I got my start in the entertainment world, managing logistics and production on Brian Brushwood's touring magic show. In that role, I coordinated travel itineraries across domestic and international locations, managed tight production schedules, oversaw prop logistics, and organized merchandise operations.
In 2011, I transitioned into digital media at TWiT, a leading tech podcast network headquartered in Petaluma, CA. As a senior content producer and on-camera host, I produced eight weekly video podcasts, launched new show formats, and produced live event coverage for major conventions, including CES, NAB Show, and Comic-Con. I was also responsible for producing special segments, researching breaking news, and scheduling guests. I played a key role in developing and launching the network’s first YouTube show strategy, which attracted millions of monthly viewers.
Since 2015, I have operated as a freelance content producer, managing five communities and YouTube channels, with a combined audience of over 1.5 million subscribers and 500 million views. In this role, I have overseen the end-to-end production of over 2,000 videos and 1,700 podcast episodes, coordinating teams of researchers, writers, and editors. I managed all content marketing initiatives, including paid media through Google Ads and Facebook Ads. I have negotiated high-profile influencer marketing contracts with brands including Microsoft, Google, Disney, and Facebook. I assisted in producing and managing annual charitable livestream marathons benefiting Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. For these marathons, I developed multiple engaging segments, secured sponsors and special guests, and coordinated production schedules of 25-30 influencers. Overall, we have raised over $1 million for the organization.
In 2021, I became interested in taking business courses to broaden my skill set. By December 2024, I graduated with a B.S. in Business Administration and Marketing from Western Governors University. I have since continued my education by completing several digital marketing certifications.
I have extensive technical expertise, including proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop), Final Cut Pro, OBS, TriCaster, and professional cameras (Canon, Fujifilm, Sony, Panasonic). In addition to Google Ads and Facebook Ads, I use Google & YouTube Analytics to analyze audience data for content refinement.
Whether you're looking for creative direction, comprehensive content production, or innovative social media strategy, I bring a blend of technical skill, digital strategy, and hands-on experience to every project.
